Monitoring of Water Quality with Trophic State Index (TSI) in the Chalan Beel Wetland Ecosystem of Bangladesh

This study was conducted to investigate the status of water quality for fisheries and aquatic environment in Chalan Beel, largest wetland ecosystem Bangladesh. Water samples were collected from five sampling stations over period February 2020 January 2021 during pre-monsoon, monsoon, post-monsoon seasons, respectively. Surface controlling parameters such as temperature, transparency, pH, DO, TDS, EC, total hardness, alkalinity, Chlorophyll a, TSI Beel monitored seasonally. The revealed that PO4, NO3 exceeded recommended level fish culture. On other hand, NH3, SO4, NO2, trophic state index (TSI) within standard limits aquaculture. Concentrations a (CHL) indicated no definite trend with seasons. In conclusion, is mesotrophic condition 40, apparently, there positive relationship between TSI. To conserve healthy beel ecosystem, it necessary promote knowledge about issues management through monitoring research.
